Our approach to privacy

KindMark is consent-first by design. Your profile is private by default, and nothing about you becomes public until you explicitly choose to share it. This policy explains what we collect, what we never collect, and the control you have.

Information you provide as a worker

When you create an account we store your email address and a minimal profile: your first name, last initial, profession, city, country, and optionally an employer and a photo. You may also add an external tip link. You can edit or remove this information at any time.

Recognition from the public

People who recognize your contribution — for example by scanning your QR code — do so anonymously. We do not ask them for, or store, their name, email, phone number, or any other personal identifier.

To protect against abuse and manipulation, we store only salted, one-way hashes of technical signals (such as an approximate network address, a device fingerprint, and a browser identifier). These hashes cannot be reversed to identify a person, are used solely for fraud detection, and are never shown on any public page.

Evidence you import yourself

You may add testimonials, reviews, screenshots, or links as evidence of your contribution. We process only the content you provide. We do not crawl the web or collect public content about you on our own.

How AI is used

We use AI to read the evidence you supply and suggest possible traits, behaviors, and outcomes. AI output is always a suggestion — a candidate — never a fact about who you are. Nothing an AI produces affects your Standing until you review and confirm it.

What we never do

• We never collect personally identifiable information from the people who recognize you.
• We never make your profile public without your explicit choice.
• We never expose your email, the technical fraud-prevention hashes, internal identifiers, or raw customer metadata on any public page.
• We never sell your data or display a raw count of recognitions as your identity.

Your controls

You decide whether your profile is private, unlisted, or public. You can show or hide your Standing Signature, and you can show or hide each individual KindMark and confirmed contribution. You can change any of these settings, or delete your account, at any time.
